Dark Horse's The Lord of the Rings™ Animated Figure Set Celebrates the Classic 1978 Film

The original The Lord of the Rings movie finally gets some new collectibles.

Decades before Peter Jackson and his team headed to Middle-earth, animator Ralph Bakshi became the first to bring The Lord of the Rings to the big screen. Dark Horse is celebrating the legacy of 1978's animated The Lord of the Rings movie by releasing a new set of collectible figurines based on that iconic animation.

This lineup of The Lord of the Rings figures includes three characters from the film - Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, and Aragorn. Obviously, that only scratches the surface of the film's massive ensemble cast. Dark Horse teases that there may be future releases in this series, so stay tuned for more.

These PVC figurines were sculpted by Chris Dahlberg and painted by J.W. Productions. Each measures between 4.25 and 6.25 inches tall.

These three figures are being sold as one box set. The set is priced at $89.99 and is slated for release between September and November of 2026.
